Having the name of a successful star in your movie title may not necessarily guarantee a box office success, like in the case of Chandan Arora’s – “Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon” though the movie attracted great reviews it surely didn’t set the cash registers ringing but despite the past record theatre actor / director Makrand Deshpande is trying his hands in film making with “Shahrukh Bola Khubsurat Hai Tu”, whether Shahrukh Khan’s name works for the film or not let us find out.

The movie is about persona of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, his charisma that changes the life of a flower girl who is one of his biggest fans in the city, he complements her and it changes her life, it traces a journey of how a superstar almost becomes a demigod in the life of a fan, she enjoys the beauty of life because of her new found god Shahrukh Khan and fights dangers of life on the streets.

Director Makrand Deshpande, though may have thought of an engaging story, but not all stories that look good on paper depicts well on screen, what it turns in case of Shahrukh bola Khubsurat Hai Tu is a garbled half baked plot where many scenes appear either unnecessary or incomplete. His story may have had some underline meaning but it never comes across onscreen.

The characters are also sketched amateurishly however that doesn’t take away the credit of Makrand’s theatre toil each and every actor delivers top notch performance, Preetika Chawla and Sanjay Dadheech are very promising and confident on screen, overall Shahrukh Bola Khubsurat Hai Tu is not Khubsurat at all, we at FilmiTadka give it 1 out of 5 stars.
