Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is verifying the reports on her face being whitened on the cover of a fashion magazine to meet the Caucasian standards of beauty. A racial controversy on this has just got darker. As per the reports, the actress is extremely angry over the incident; her first reaction according to a source closer to her was disbelief.
She opined that such type of things do not happen anymore, and we should keep in mind that in the present day world women are recognized for their merit, and not for their skin colours. The interesting point here is that the whitening was first noticed by fans, but not by media. With the news, several fashion victims who had gone through the magazine noticed that the appearance of their beauty queen was not looking like her natural colour and started posting their messages online.
We should also recall the incident of the US edition of the magazine publishing an African-American actress Gabourey Sidibe with a much paler complexion. The picture was published in September last year. A friend of Ashwarya Rai explains – “It is not proper to look Ash with culture-specific eyes. She is regarded as a world citizen as she represented India in many international forums. She is the global face of the contemporary Indian women”.
Aishwarya was recently shot in an advertisement in Rome for the famous wrist watch brand, Longines, with Kate Winslet in which Taiwanese model Chi-Ling Lin also participated, and anyone can easily say that Aishwarya was clearly the fairest of them.
Who doesn’t want to make free calls from PC to mobile? Almost all of us want such a service. But, no call could be made free to anyone unless someone else bears the total cost of your free cheap international calls without suffering his or her loss. In today’s world of advertisement this is possible. Hat’s off to the idea of those individuals who made this task possible.
