JBL Pro LSR308 – PAIR Studio Monitors

If you have been thinking about picking up some studio monitors for your DJ setup than you should seriously consider the JBL Pro LSR308’s. These are a great entry into the studio monitor market. You can get more affordable ones like the Pioneer DJ DM-40’s which are also a good buy for only $149.00. But if you have the extra cash to spend a little more than you should go for it. Anytime you can get a high-quality pair of monitors for under $500 you should take advantage of it.

The JBL’s are bi-amplified Class-D reference monitors. They have an 8″ woofer and 1″ soft dome tweeters along with a rear port to help with lows. Now keep in mind that studio monitors, in general, have a flat sound to them. But since most DJ’s are using them for editing or prepping music for a party. But the beauty of these babies is that they have JBL’s WaveGuide which enhances the stereo imaging for a nice wide soundstage. There are some drawbacks as well as to be expected for a lower-end model. There may be a little hiss when turned on but that could be dependent on how clean your electrical lines are.

All in all, these should be on your short list!
